In my previous post , I asked:
Could it be the freezing problem is due to turning virtualiztion OFF in the
BIOS ?

The answer to my question is that virtualization setting in the BIOS
does not affect the freezing problem in kernel 3.2.

Florin:
I also tried setting Intel Register 0x2120 but it seems such register does not
exist as shown below:

Asus:~$ sudo intel_reg_write 0x2120 '0x1206800'
[sudo] password for alfagulf:
Value before: 0x0
Value after: 0x0

Would those of you who have I7 3770K try the above command and let us
know what they get?

So for me, kernel 3.4 solved the problem of complete freezing (ie. not
even console) but did not solve the problem of intermittent Gnome-Shell
hangging.

I hope that Florin (or whoever has the permission) change the state of this
bug to reflect what we are experiencing.
Thanks
