I wonder if a clean install of ubuntu and ubuntu video driver install just for testing is really needed? I think my current installation is better suited for testing, as it got all the packaging software needed to test the Amd site driver ubuntu deb generator, the general amd site driver install and the jockey driver; the current install is also fully updated(update of 260mb).
I'm properly purging the proprietary video driver before any different driver install for some time, as mentioned here(thought the results are the same): http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Precise_Installation_Guide#Removing_Catalyst.2Ffglrx Let me know of anything I can do to speed the fixing of this issue -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1004546 Title: Black screen at login after any ubuntu AMD radeon driver install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1004546/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
