@Abhishek - I'm glad that worked for you, but it shouldn't be necessary. Other people in this bug didn't need to do that. (That page in the link you provided was published before 295.49 was available in -updates - see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers- updates/+publishinghistory )
I think something may be seriously wrong with your 12.04 installation. Have you been offered any other updates since installation? If not, run Update Manager from the Software Centre manually.
