The problem is there are a million possible reasons why a freeze could occur, usually nouveau dies after an invalid instruction or memory access occurs. There is some work being done so the system won't completely freeze in the future, but it's not complete yet. If the screen freezes, can you log in from a different machine, grab /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of 'dmesg'? This would make it easier for me to pinpoint where exactly the bug is.
