Because the issue is in the proprietary video driver, there is little we can do on the distro end, except escalate to an NVIDIA engineer, which we have done.
The NVIDIA engineer posted here on this bug, that he was not able to reproduce it on his end: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics- drivers/+bug/973096/comments/144 He specified what information he needs from users seeing this crash. Unfortunately none of the commenters since his post have provided the requested information.
