It is possible that this is a hardware problem. My board has 4 USB 3.0 ports on the back and 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back. On the front there are 2 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0. On all USB 3.0 ports (also through a USB-3.0 hub) the mouse works smoothly on the 2.0 ports it is choppy. Strange, it is for sure not a USB 3.0 mouse, it is 5 years old and also why would a mouse need USB 3.0 speed?
