I'm affected as well, using a Dell Inspiron 1720 notebook with Mint 14 MATE. After reading ~suv's comment and the linked one, I had a hunch what might be causing the crash on my system: I'm running touchpad- indicator to disable my touchpad while a mouse is attached. The crash does indeed not occur when the touchpad is active - but as soon as I disable it and click anywhere in Inkscape, xorg will crash just as before.
