Not really, https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70764 tracks
that this hang is more likely with TearFree (fundamentally the hang is
still the same hardware issue, but it is interesting that TearFree has a
higher chance of hitting it).

If you want to experiment:

 http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~ickle/linux-2.6/log/?h=requests

should have an interesting fix, at least for trying to prevent the
TearFree leading to the semaphore hang.
