Okay after doing so more digging I discovered that defining custom
keyboard shortcuts does work but it apparently does not like the FN+F3
key. It puts it down as "Battery". The same goes for the ThinkVantage
button - it puts down as Launch1 and apparently the system will not
interpret those. If I assign let's say "Alt-F&' for one of tose than
that works. The other FN + specialty keys on my Thinkpad that were setup
by Ubuntu on install work. Hmm... I am going to poke around some more on
this.
