Juan's fix does the trick for me! Thank you so much! The only drawback is that I can't inverse the scroll direction with two fingers anymore. Under Settings > Mouse & Touchpad the checkbox "Natural Scrolling" is gone. But I'm just glad that I can now use the touchpad at all.
