While I am not the OP I am definately effected by this bug and still am. It's a problem for me with a fully to date 9.04 installation. - latest kernel etc.
However its end of semester atm and I haven't had time to run the latest live CD. Exams finish for me Friday week. I will install 9.10 after that. Please re-open this bug and I will attend to above request as soon as I can.
