Thank you for testing. Actually, from your previous logs I now also see that my theory about the DRI option not being used with KMS is wrong.
Maybe you could upload Xorg.0.log and `dmesg` output with and without acpi=off (and otherwise identical settings, say, "DRI" "off" in xorg.conf still).
