Well, I guess I'm talking to myself, but the problem is between the EDID of the monitor and the Ubuntu drivers for the i865 graphics controller: when I leave the monitor off during boot and grub loading, turn it on afterwards, then the monitor is recognised and fully functional. XP does not have this problem...so this is a development bug if anyone finds it worthy enough.
-- Monitor initially recognized in Ubuntu 9.10, but then reverts to "Unknown Monitor" with 800x600 resolution. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/496767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
