I upgraded to the Lucid beta-1 starting one instance of Karmic on this laptop yesterday (this is a dual-boot system now, with Karmic and Lucid on it) and have installed some updates since.
The problem with the offset horizontal position of the screen (with wrapping around), as described above, remains. Trying to switch to a text console with, for example, ctrl-alt-F2, results in a blank screen. In addition, there seems to be a new problem. Even with /etc/X11/xorg.conf in place, the initial login screen is the wrong size - something like 1600x1200, so the login window is over toward the lower right corner of the screen. Once logged in, the screen background takes several seconds to resize to 1024x768. I attaching a tar file with xorg.conf, dmesg, and /var/log/Xorg.0* files. ** Attachment added: "xorg.conf, dmesg, Xorg.0*" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/41539963/2010-03-21.tar -- [K8M800] Screen origin shifted to center, screen wraps, ttyN screens don't work, on Averatec 3280 running Lucid with openchrome driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/495553 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-openchrome in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
