You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: plymouth
Since a while (maybe a week?) I do not get the graphical plymouth splash anymore: when being asked for the cryptsetup passphrase I'm getting the text input which puts a new line with every key being entered (different from the "typical"/normal text plugin?!). However, nouveau gets used correctly by X then, also when switching to e.g. VT1. Additionally, the shutdown process apparently uses plymouth' graphics mode, too. $ cat /proc/fb 0 nouveaufb ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: plymouth 0.8.1-1ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-18.27-generic 2.6.32.10+drm33.1 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-18-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Mar 29 19:55:08 2010 Lsusb: Bus 002 Device 003: ID 045e:00db Microsoft Corp.
