Hi, After testing again today on lucid with xorg-edgers ppa I'm now getting something similar to this (one step backwards): http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/TroubleShooting#Xorgfailstostartwith.22.28EE.29.5Bdrm.5Dfailedtoopendevice.22 I believe it's because my nouveau driver only works on 2.6.35 kernels, so I tried lucid with kernel 2.6.35-2-generic-pae and kernel 2.6.35-7 -generic-pae but not one of the two booted up. Not even in recovery mode. I also tried xubuntu mavrick alpha2 desktop, same problem.
I want to download mavrick daily live, but at this point in time I only think it's a waste of my rather expensive internet cap. I'll try and do a clean install of lucid tomorrow. Any other things I test or try to get some debug info? demsg /var/log/Xorg.0.log /var/log/kern.log nothing seems to help as the system locks up completely before and info is logged. PS: There was no "splash" argument in grub only "quiet" I removed it, did not help. I never really see plymouth anyhow. PPS: If only this pc supported usb-boot... :-/ Regards, Willem -- Nouveau driver works horrible on Nvidia Geforce2 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/596402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
