We also have udev 182 in Buildroot, and that afaik works ok without any
patches (I don't use it myself though).
just tried to emerge udev with uclibc 0.28 and it fails -
with 'O_CLOEXEC' undeclared.
generally synced system up , made backups and will try to upgrade uclibc
to 33.1 with new ebuild, then retry with udev and stuff
