Hi all,
I'm new here and don't know if this is the right place to ask about Blackfin
running uClinux and UARTs.
I need to add some kind of UARTs to a BF561 project. I would like to use a
quad UART (16554) with FIFO connected to the parallell bus in a way similar
to the Ethernet/USB extender board from ADI.
I can't tell you about the 16554, but I do have a Blackfin design
using the SC16C554 quad-UART. It works OK for what we are using it
for (small transfers) but has some quirks. Please let me know if you
consider using it and I will dig up my notes. As I recall, our
design doesn't have the interrupt line connected (we just poll it),
and we aren't able to detect when the transmit FIFO is full using the
register interface.
