I read that the now officially released Kernel 2.6.25 offers a lot
of goodies for embedded / soft-realtime systems.
Will this version included in the tools (Buildroot etc) ?
Is it recommended to use 2.6.25 for new projects ?
Did they fix the ARM no mmu stuff in the kernel for the ARM7TDMI?
Last time i tried it the build was broken and someone admitted it was
not maintained since the last attempt 2.6.14? In addition, the XIP
portion of the kernel also appeared broken for the ARM7TDMI.
Is there no maintainer now, or what? If not, maybe we need a couple
of volunteers (I might be one of them, but not by myself).
I would be interested in getting it (linux kernel for the ARM @ ARM Ltd
linux site) maintainable again.
It has never been maintained there.
And the real target is maintained in mainline kernels.

On a similar note though, the uCLinux
tree has been maintained and is functional. Hopefully i haven't
confused the two for anyone. Someone correct me if i am wrong here.
But, i got the impression the linux kernel for the ARM is pseudo
maintained by ARM Ltd. While the uCLinux kernel is maintained by the
community here. correct?
Just got the full uCLinux kernel running with no MMU on an ARM7TDMI.
call stack is:
sys_waitid()
kthread()
worker_thread()
run_workqueue()
keventd_create()
kernel_thread()
do_fork()
copy_process()
kmem_cahce_alloc()
cache_alloc_refill()
Yahoo !!!
No i need to connect a console to my serial port and see if that is
functioning.
