Hi Arnon, Steve,

Firstly, it's good to see tinytcl getting some active use.

Now:
tclHistory.c and tclLoad* all came from a later version of Tcl.
Version 7.2, or 7.3 from memory. So these are all covered by the same BSD licence.
(tclLoadDl.c has a licence header)

I created all the rest while at Snapgear, so they would control the copyright, but I would be surprised
if they didn't wish to keep the same BSD licence for these components.

Perhaps Greg can answer here.

Yes, for SnapGear's part we intend all the extra files in
tincytcl to be licensed under the same license as tinytcl
itself.

There is no question mark over tclLoadDl.c and tclHistory.c, they
have copyright headers already.

If tclLoad.[ch] came from newer tcl then they are covered by
the same license.

So for:

 tinytcl/extensions/ledman/ledman.c
 tinytcl/noextensions.c
 tinytcl/regex_compat.c
 tinytcl/regex_compat.h
 tinytcl/tclmod.c
 tinytcl/tclmod.h

as created by Steve they are also licensed under the BSD style
license of the tinytcl package.

I am interested though in why they didn't pick on other files
in tinytcl that don't have any sort of copyright/license comments
in them? (for example dos.c?)

Regards
Greg

Hi,
A customer of my company will soon be releasing a wireless product based on our design, using much GPL code on the host SW side. Our customer is very strict on GPL compliancy, and they complained about files in tinytcl that are missing license/copyright headers in the src code. Could you please comment on the licensing of these files? Were they written by snapgear, or taken from other sources? Can I add a GPL/BSD header to these files? The problematic files are: tinytcl\extensions\ledman\ledman.c
tinytcl\noextensions.c
tinytcl\regex_compat.c, AND and regex_compat.h
tinytcl\tclHistory.c
tinytcl\tclLoad.c, AND tclLoad.h
tinytcl\tclLoadDl.c
tinytcl\tclmod.c, AND tclmod.h
Thanks for your help!
