Ok that would explain it. The 1.0.x releases are from the http://svn.geotools.org/udig/branches/1.0.x branch. Trunk is considered unstable and is being modified for 1.1. So ApplicationGIS does not exist for 1.0.4 and 1.0.5. I'd recommend downloading the 1.0.5 sdk and developing against that. Or you can do a svn sw http://svn.geotools.org/udig/branches/1.0.x.

I was using subversion on the trunk (using the commandline as in the

ApplicationGIS?

Uh oh. That is not good ApplicationGIS was not supposed to get into the

code base until 1.1 is out. I'm checking the code base... I've just looked at the source code for 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 and it seems that they both use PlatformGIS, I can't find references to ApplicationGIS anywhere. Are you downloading the SDK releases or are you using subversion?

I have been using a rather old source code base in which I happily used
PlatformGIS.
Then I upgraded the source to 1.04 and I needed to change to
ApplicationGIS. This worked fine until I downloaded the uDig 1.05
installation to check my plugin.
In the logfile I now get a stacktrace with the
"NoClassDefFoundError: net/refractions/udig/project/ui/ApplicationGIS"

I was kind of surprised, did I do something wrong?
