I'm not sure why this is. I admit that I've found a related bug where the name of the project as displayed in the view is the same, but a new project is created. I've tested the development trunk as well as 1.0.5. I will change the trunk so that the name of the new project reflects the name of the directory chosen. Could that be where the confusion comes from?

In all versions of uDig I never had been able to create a New project with the
provided instructions...

From the menubar, select File > New > Project

In the New Project field, type a filename. (You may also use the Browse button) Click Finish when you are done. The new Project has been created and is now in the Project Explorer

After Finish button has been pressed, nothing happens
