I'm flipping through the Eclipse RCP book right now, hope to be hacking code soon, uDIG looks very promising. I'm in charge of a GIS Department at a consulting company in Spain, and we have decided to give this software a serious try for some of our projects. Even though gvSIG is getting really big here I have found uDIG to be a better architectural aproach to application development, and being based on Eclipse it is very modular and flexible (this is my belief at least). I wasn't aware there was a very big audience for the 64 bit version. Its just a matter of longer application export times. I'll make this a standard procedure.
