I updated the walkthrough 2 instructions to use geoserver 2.0 (but have not tested geoserver 2.1 yet).
Jesse I was modifying the wfs code recently; see recent discussion on this list; in order to offer better support for mapserver and compliance levels. There is *every* possibility that I have broken something; it is one of the things that I ask be tested for the next release. The internals of WFS 1.0 support still use the old geotools 2.2 filters to enforce compliance - I have created a replacement but have not cut the code over to using it.
