1+ Great idea! I like the approach to create screen-casts of zoned
functionality. This would be easier to tag, makes much more fun to
view and is much for effective for the audience than a hugh video of
45min++ where users have no idea where to find "functionality xy"!

Just a thought : would you like to have videos made on the same
platform or is it cool to show that uDig is platform independent and
allow screen casts on different OS's? I would prefer later solution
but could make it much more difficult for potential users to fine the
functionality on their preferred OS while the cast has been made with
some other OS.

What kind of tool would you prefer
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_screencasting_software).
Do you have any experiences with Open Source Software that runs on the
three major OS Systems, e.g.
* VLC Media player : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VLC_media_player or
* Freeseer : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeseer or even
* FFmpeg : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FFmpeg
Do you have any suggestions for us?

Do you expect to have videos with spoken descriptions?

Frank
