I am using ufraw on files shot with my Nikon D60. The 8-9 meg raw files are 11-13 megs when converted to jpeg. Why are the jpegs bigger than the raw files? If I shot in jpeg mode, the files from my camera are only 1-2 megs. Do I have some settings wrong or is this typical? How do I get smaller jpeg files without loosing picture quality?
