Well yeah, the whole point is to make it _not_ persistent, but very
dynamic.

Btw, again the GIMP has this setting located with it's other crop
settings as well.

Well, both the alignment lines and the crop lines are sometimes harder
to distinguish, while this is seldomly an issue with the GIMP, so it
would seem like a decent solution.
