Dear CHOSUG members,

up to now, we have issued 5 newsletters, just to test the idea of a
newsletter inside the user group.

Why a newsletter ?
Since january, I've seen many blogs and forums , in switzerland, about
OpenSolaris. Many interesting things are discussed but not necessarly
shared, which could benefit to other. Linux Users could benefit from
such content, by discovering the CHOSUG community, and why not attending
to some CHOSUG sessions

Which format ?
The idea of the Newsletter is Keep It Smart and Simple: A monthly,
doublesided, quad-topics PDF file, with short, but meaningfull content,
written by CHOSUG members. We could continue to push it to the mailing
list, and drop a copy (for archives) on the wiki.

Language ?
Having to translate it to french and German is not realistic (lack of
volunteers in the CHOSUG), so, it should continue in english.

Content ?
Well, you all have some content:
- your blogs on OpenSolaris
- your professionnal experiments with Solaris/OpenSolaris
- your proven best practice
- your latest OpenSolaris build experiment on your Desktop/laptop
- your latest Beer2Beer session
- your planned technical presentation

Region:
of course, content should come for all the regions of Switzerland, but
in english to help a Ticino user understand what a Zug user is saying

Format:
well, I draw a template (use Draw in StarOffice/OpenOffice) with
standard Arial fonts. The idea is to have a newsletter that can be read
in 5 minutes, with links if the reader want to know more. I attached a
PDF of this template, and I'm waiting for you feedback (especially from
actual/futur CHSOUG leaders) to change the template. This is your next
newsletter, so the format (size, colors, logos, positions, ...) must be
your decision :)
