I've had a look on the net for a PROM command reference but most of the ones I've found to date are old (2002 or earlier) and or are very basic ...
Does anyone have access to a single document that lists all PROM commands for current hardware that I could have a look at? For bonus points, a single reference for all the RCS/ALOM/ILOM/ELOM commands would be wonderful as well ... :) Failing that - I'm after the PROM magic that allows the specification of network parameters on the command line to boot a host when ARP/RARP and DHCP are not available, but the catch is I don't want to do WAN boot ... I have the JumpStart server set up and have confirmed that it works, I just don't have the first stage boot protocols available[1] ... is this even possible? I've found a reference for performing a WAN boot and it seems to allow specification of most of the parameters I want except the IPs for the JumpStart TFTP and NFS servers (which aren't needed for WAN boot, naturally) Regards, Malcolm [1] In my testing environment I have DHCP running, which is how I know the JumpStart host (actually an xVM Ops Centre proxy) works, however we may have the situation that in production we won't have DHCP available ... I'm told that xVM Ops Centre v2.1 doesn't support WAN boot which leaves us in a hole if we can't use DHCP either ... -- Malcolm Herbert This brain intentionally mjch at mjch.net left blank
