Hi Lupco; There is no mention of a multipath driver (which for AIX, should be RDAC ideally). If configured correctly, and MP setup correctly the below will work. You won't have any outage during LUN failover - if it's setup correctly. I'm pretty sure that the VG on the AIX will be a concat;however, it really depends on the allocation of LEs/PEs and how they've been allocated to the various lvols. So yes, it should work. Will it perform the way you hope it weill? Depends. What do you want it do be able to do? gunther :)

I really would like a second opinion on this if you know abit about San's. Basically we have a Engenio disk array connect to an IBM P Series box. The Disk array has 2 x 200GB Raid 1 Luns. One lun is on Controller A and one lun is on Controller B. Both luns have been added to the same volume group under AIX and there is a 400GB file system created on the volume group. I'm assuming that AIX sees that as a Concatenation of both luns. What are people thoughts on this configuration, because my first impression was: - Controller Failure on either controller would cause a short outage on one of the luns while the path was changed to the redundant controller. - Loss of either of the luns would result in an unreadable file system.
