Ed,

Just make sure that the rates promised as you check in are the rates you pay, ask for a paper receipt that shows the agreed rates.
Beware that what is supposed to be normal house-keeping at times turns out to be charged at times.
Call maintenance and you will be lucky to get a person at the other end, besides if you get one it may take you the next day to get an explanation for a request to fix a room problem.

Customer service at the front desk is seriously wanting...............they make you feel like you are intefering their peace.

The forex beaureu is another ugly side...............while the exchange rate at any window in Kampala is at Shs 1800.00 for US$1, their rates run at Shs 1600.00. Anyways just insist and use uganda currency.

On the positive side, I think they excel in hosting parties and conferences.

Would you please supply more information so that your problem can be corrected?  Such feed backs are very important when it comes to business.  I took it upon myself, to forward that E-mail to the hotel and if you have a complaint, you can as well contact the management and I am sure they will try to address what you call “..  False promises, horrible services   I am sure the management would be glad to address your concerns.

The reason I encourage you to contact the hotel is simply because I have known the owner for such a long time and very approachable gentleman.

The hotel e-mail is here under:

Subject: ugnet_: Never Stay at Hotel Africana Kampala

Guys wishing to stay in a hotel in Kampala, you may need to get second opinions about hotel Africana. They offer false promises and their services are horrible.

I was just pissed!
