Idi Amin must be allowed to return to Uganda alive on the condition that he faces trial for the crimes that he commited directly or indirectly and these crimes are well documented...infact i'm sure that most of the witnesses to these crimes will still be alive aferall it's only thrity years ago. One of the reasons why Africa is in a turmoil is because of our blatant disregard for life this man (Amin) was responsible for the death of thousands of Ugandans and this is very recent history yet for political reasons you are willing to spit on the graves of all those people....this is a man who has been leaving comfortably in Saudi Arabia yet he is one of those responsible for Ugandas present deplorable state....because of his policies generations of Ugandans lost opportunities....he was responsible for steering an infant country along slipery slope of destruction of course the rest is history. It would be a gross miscarriage of justice if for whatever reason he is allowed to go scot free...a presidence must be set in Uganda and indeed in Africa that such behaviour as exemplified by Amin will not be tolerated.....look at how developed countries lament over the death of one of their citizens home or abroad...todate Isreal and indeed the western world is still hunting down Nazis yet in our case we are debating about whether or not to pardon a man responsible for murdering thousands just 20-30 years ago it's a shame...may God save us from our selves.

Mwaami Matovu

You know when we are discussing matters of importance I fail to understand
why you drag us through such nonsense. Past Leaders are already returned or
returning to Uganda, Ssabasajja Mutesa is in Uganda, Professor Lule is in
Uganda, Godfrey Binayisa is on Kampala road. In fact let me tell you that I
am one of those people who believe that president Obote wants to go home as
well, but Museveni has stated publicly that if he returns he will kill him.
And this is the way Museveni plays politics by making issues personal, a
good example is the expedited killing of Cossima Obura, and I am sure you
know of their history.

But just out of curiosity, how do you know that Obote does not want to
buried in Zambia?

Now on Mutesa you are not telling the truth, so I will remind you. At the
death of the President, Uganda government offered to return the body to
Uganda, and you might have not known this for most likely you were not born
yet. But Buganda leaders and Mengo leaders, refused the offer. So let us not
put Mengo confusion to the then Uganda government. And yes I know you will
refuse that fact. So let me warn you that if you deny that fact, you will be
swamped with factual proofs, for History does not die that fast.
Lastly your using the way Mutesa died to plant it on Obote is a very
terrible disgrace, one wonders how much you can prove on all those
statements. But you see Uganda issues any one can state what he/she likes
and that is your decision. But I will say this that during one of my visits
in Uganda, I went to see one oldie Muganda woman, who wanted to know how I
traveled from Canada to Uganda. The moment I told her that I came through
London, she became excited and took me for a private discussion, and her
question was, "Did you get a chance to see Ssabasajja in London?" For a good
number of old Baganda actually believes that Mutesa is alive and in London.
Now Matovu knows for a fact that Obote killed Mutesa. When will living into
illusion end in Buganda one must wonder.
