You can educate your self on what you want to learn. That does not rewrite Buganda's History. Read the articles from realiable sources as compared to those of UPC Ideologist, Mr. Adhola. I hope Mw. Mulindwa has translated for you if you need that.
Last October 8th was the 40th as per article. The celebrations are attended by thousands of citizens including central govt. ministers and President. Where is your drawing table sir?

Although this net tries to educate many Ugandans and others, I find point like these ones you clearly laid down here falling on twisted minds and to people bent to ignore facts. I would have thought on a straight forward issue like this rather than waste time one should tell these guys that the best starting point is for them to go back to their drawing table (learnt basic facts).
I certainly would not waste my breathe on it because at the end of the day it will not serve any purpose. Minds need to meeting or focussed on any point of dicussion/debate or willing to listen and accept other's point in order to yield any fruit from such debate/discussion. I do not believe this is the point/case here.
You may continue with your effort to educate them but until some people begin to know where and when to start and stop then everything begins to fall within the boundaries of kidding about rather than having serious discussion thus leading to complacency and anything one may assume, God knows what?
It is a sad thing for me to make the above observation knowing very well I support a party that has been tirelessly advocating for everyone, everywhere and even including the guys I am referring to above.

The date 8th October 1962 is only significant in Uganda's history as the eve of independence day. Independence Day is 9th October 1962. On that day the country called Uganda (not Buganda) was granted independence by the British. On that day a nation called Uganda was born. Where then do you get the idea that Buganda was granted independenec on 8th Ocober 1962?
The symbols of independenec were the intruments of independence. These were handed to the then leader of Uganda, Milton Obote. The other symbol of independence was lowering the British flag and raising the Uganda one. The person who raised the Uganda flag was again Milton Obote.
As all this was happening, the Kabaka of Buganda was sitting in the audiance.
