Being a nationalist makes me very bitter at the way we westerners are
causing catastrophe in Uganda of today and I fear that the consequences
might be grave for the rest of us who have no part to play in the cruelty
being meted to other tribes of the north and east of the country. First
we necklessed very many innocent acolis when museveni was coming to power
under the pretext that they are banyanyas. We have been continuing with
this government sponsored cruelty in the form of kakoza mutale who has
apparently been recruiting children into the UPDF illegaly. When the
assistant chief of staff (who is from the north) challenged this he was
placed under house arrest and there are rumours that Muhozi Kainerugaba
has been responsible in poisoning the man who is now paralised totally
and nearing death. When shall we learn? Do we not see that we are sowing
the seeds of the destruction of not only our societies but our
children\'s future? This cruelty must stop. We need all Ugandans to
participate in the discussions about the country without being
intimidated by NRM functionaries or ESO or ISO or GISO agents.
