With the Cubs' loss last night to the Florida Marlins, the North Siders' rebuilding project continues into its 59th year: 1945 remains intact as the year the Cubs last won the pennant. Blame? Take your pick: the curse of the Billy Goat, the ghost of Babe Ruth's called shot, this year's foul line fan. Pitching breakdowns, botched double plays.
