Two Teso politicians linked to the People's Redemption Army (PRA) rebel group were on Monday committed to High Court for trial on charges of treason and misprison of treason.
Mr Francis Ogwang Olebe and Mr Charles Willy Ekemu were sent to the High Court by Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Mr Deo Nizeyimana.

Nizeyimana committed Ogwang a former banker and Ekemu after completion of investigations into the case.
After reading the committal documents to the accused persons, the trial magistrate informed them about their right to engage an advocate of their choice to defend them. He said if they failed to secure an advocate, the government would secure a lawyer for them.

He cancelled their bail and remanded them until the next High Court criminal session.
Prosecution contends that during January 2003, information was received by police directorate of criminal investigation from the Director General of Internal Security Organisation that the accused persons were engaged in the recruitment of people from different parts of the country into PRA.
