The arrest of Mr. Joseph Agupio , by agents of Yoweri Museveni's NRM Military dictatorship, is yet another clear move to intimidate members of Uganda's Opposition. and basically render the opposition members ineffective. Subsequently enabling Mr. Museveni to simply sail through with his ambition to seek the "third term".
One simply cannot talk of the so called "Political transition" in Uganda, when the Military regime is now engaged in intimidation tactis against opponents. Museveni is now becoming more dangerous each single day.!! The Question then is: how will and can the people react if and when, as is the case now, their back is to the wall? Must the people cower under the circumstances? I think NOT!

Unknown security operatives arrested the former chairman of Dr Kizza Besigye task force in Arua district, Mr Joseph Agupio on Thursday.
"After the arrest, Agupio was taken to Arua military barracks where he is still kept," a member of Besigye Task Force in Arua Mr Jaffery Alekua told the Monitor.

"The cause of Agupio's arrest is not yet known. But there are fabrications going on to have all Besigye task force members rounded up and kept out of circulation until further notice," Alekua added.
He said government wants all partyists arrested and it might be the reason why Agupio was arrested.
He said, he (Agupio) was arrested from his home in Muni National Teacher's College (NTC) staff quarters in the evening but he was not tortured by the time of arrest.
An activist from FDC, Mr Lutaro Athanasius said, "We suspect that he has been arrested because of acting on the opposition side, but this is harassment."

Agupio is a lecturer at Muni NTC in Arua. He has also been a general secretary for Uganda People's Congress (UPC) Arua district.
Besigye now exiled in South Africa is former 2001 presidential candidate and acting FDC leader.
