Now that Easter is over, I am returning to express my sincere gratitude to
you
for the young people's music you shared with all of us. I am so happy I saw
it
after the Easter Services, otherwise I might have failed to go to church.
Since then,
I have been listening to the young people and pondering over their
creativity.
There are more women in the music industry and the number seems to be
growing.
What is amazing is women singing and praising their lovers or asking for
love??
While women tend to use their names, the youngmen have stage names: Bobi
Wine,
Bebe Cool, Butchman, Dr.Hilderman, Dr. Chameleone, DJ. Jojo, Ragga Dee, Gen.
Mega Dee, Moses Radio Weasle, Rabadaba etc etc. Is there any where one can
go like a website or publication to find the real names behind the stage
names?
Exceptions were Bosmic Otim, Eddy Kenzo, Henry Tigan and the ladies.
I also wondered to our elderly people, *"BAJJAJJA BAFFE"* understand their
compositions like *Stamina* for an old person who never went to school, Then
*Big Size* and sometimes it is Swahili words or concocted words. Girls are
dressing less and less, which is sad.
I also noticed they have mastered Hip Hop music and could pose a big
competition for
USA Hip Hop Artists. I guess that is the global economy and world. The
gospel music is
also moving. I have said plenty, Mwaami Kiberu. Let me end here thanking you
once more
for the collection!!
