Distinguished Conduct Medal

Lance-Corporal P. QUINN, 2nd Battalion Irish Guards, who belongs to
Carricknagallon, Camlough, Newry, has been awarded the Distinguished
Conduct Medal
"For conspicuous gallantry on 27th September, 1916,  at Chalk Pit
Wood, when he volunteered to go back and carry up ammunition which was
badly needed. Although exposed to heavy machine-gun and rifle fire
throughout, he succeeded in bringing up two boxes of ammunition,
making two journeys for the purpose. His bravery and devotion to duty
were most marked."
