There are some real gems here, Teena — thank you for pointing them out.
A lot of Irish wound up in England as soldiers in barracks at Chatham, as seamen in one of several dockyards (Royal Navy or Coast Guard), or as pensioners who elected to stay on in England, Scotland, or Wales. The Catholic records have been *invaluable* to me in finding more of my Burkes (county Mayo). Ten years ago, the parish clerk (for a church in Southwark district) told me that they permitted only descendants to look at the parish registers which, for most of us, would require at trip abroad. So, these online records are a real boon to Irish research and well worth the rummage.
