Let's see.

The speakers and the usb hub and the power cord and the network cable were
spared, but the HD and the power supply weren't. I'm not sure about the rest.

I need at least 256mb of RAM. If I don't get an HD right of the bat, more would
be better because I'd be running a live distro and they love RAM. I'm currently
using a loaner with 128mbs and it's really not enough for Knoppix. My last comp
had 384mbs of pc-133 ram.

Speed, it can be as low as 650mhz. My last comp was only an Athlon 750mhz, so
I'm not too picky on this.

HD, I'll take what I can get, but the more the better, because I miss my music
collection and I like to have quite a bit of music.

It's gonna need video card, network card, sound card, all that jazz. Once
again, not too picky.

Some kind of cd drive. my last comp had a burner and a DVD drive. I didn't use
the dvd drive all that much recently (I used to use it all the time to watch
dvds, though... and I might start again when the roomies move and take their TV
and dvd drive with them), but I did burn CDs alot. mine only burned at 12x (it
was a 16x, but my system couldn't burn that fast)... something faster would be
wonderful.

My last computer was 5 years old as of June, and I had friends give me some of
their old stuff that was newer than mine over a year ago, so there's a good
chance that whatever you're giving rid of will be just fine.

If you give me alot and you'd like some cash for it, I can spare a little, but
not too much. I'm thinking $50 total for entire system. I know, it's not much,
but I"m worried about paying my bills as is.

So... yeah... there's my specs. Any help anyone?
I'm currently out of the DC area until Monday, and I don't have a car in the DC
area, so there's that little barrier. My friend Brad has one though and
sometimes can be cajoled into giving me a lift for things.

Thanks!,
-Mary Kay.
