[UM-LINUX] wifi

I have installed gentoo on my dell inspiron 9400 and wish to use the
wifi adaptor so my wife will stop tripping over the ethernet cable.  My
home is wired with comcast cable (motorola modem) and a d-line router. 
What hardware do I need to broadcast wifi in my home (Linux
compatible).  Please suggest specific models.
