Just wanted to give props to those who did presentations last night. I'm sure it's hard being in front of a room with everything from noobs to zealots and keeping things interesting for all, but I think for the most part it was a pretty successful meeting.
As a non-programmer (or a wanna be!), I think my favorite "cool app" was Eclipse, simply because it seems like it would be very helpful to someone who wanted to learn more about programming without having to be mired in completion of all the codes. What did others like? What other apps do personally consider cool or killer that weren't presented (or that maybe you'd be willing to present in the future)? Lastly, I'd like to say that I really appreciate Ed stepping up to the plate and taking the lead roll in the Club. While he and I were speaking last night, he mentioned the difficulty in getting new people, especially freshmen and sophomore students, interested in Linux and at least willing to come and attend a meeting or two to check it out. To that end, any suggestions or ideas you may have to help him in that endeavor would be of great value... so don't hesitate to do so! Joe Murphy (one of the old guys sitting on the back row)
