I have a bit of a weird question. A friend has an account on an MS
exchange server. She wants to get her mail using a smartphone which,
coincidentally, does not play well with the server*, and the server will
not allow her for forward mail to another account. Would it be
technically possible (setting aside for a moment whether it's a good
idea) for me to use (cheap or, preferably, free) software on a linux box
to connect to the server (given the appropriate login info), get the
mail, and then make it available for her (via, say, POP3 or IMAP)? I
thought evolution (and perhaps some other linux clients) could connect
and get mail from an exchange server, but I have no idea if there's
software to allow this sort of man in the middle function. Is there
some other obvious solution?

Thanks for your thoughts,

Nick

* It doesn't play well in the sense that her phone doesn't support
certain characters in the login name which her login requires in this
case, and apparently they refuse to simply change her login name.
