We're glad that you have interested on Umit Project.
Quoting:
"The key idea is create a mobile client to do host and port discovery. The
basic idea is also create events of availability with hosts, and integrate
it in the notification mobile environment. Android is a desirable platform
to implement it, because it is open platform."
Basically, yes. You have to save the states and monitoring the network (for
instance, WiFi network, Bluetooth?). We strongly recommend that you present
in proposal:
- How you plan to track the hosts? Some low-level details
- How you plan store those state?
- User graphical interface: how are you planning interact with user? and
integrate in the mobile OS environment?
Also, you should check out the core of Network
Scanner<http://trac.umitproject.org/browser/network-scanner/trunk/umit/core>
.
If you have any doubts, let us know.
