Hi,
I’m Tianwei Liu. I’ve already introduced myself in the previous mail. I
wish to work on the *Network** Scanner developer. *Recently, I have
installed the Network Scanner V1.0 in win7 (Oh it failed!) and Ubuntu
12.04, and the Packet Manipulator v0.3 is also in my computer. I’m reading
some code of Network Scanner from GitHUB.
Now I have some questions about Umit network scanner:
1. About ‘Get Quick Scan to work on all supported operating systems’
Some operating systems cannot run the quick scan?
2. I have already analysis the umit1.0 (from
http://dev.umitproject.org/projects/umitproject/wiki/Download).
I have also cloned the new network scanner from
https://github.com/umitproject/network-scanner.git, run the ‘sh umit.sh’,
but I cannot find any files in /deps/clan, /deps/libkeybinder,
/deps/umit-common, /deps/umpa, /deps/zion, so the Umit network scanner 2.0
for Linux cannot be installed. Can you help me solve this problem?
3. I have finished my rough draft about Network Scanner Developer, but I’m
not sure my project proposal is appropriate. The proposed design has five
main components:
l Fix the bugs(from issues of UNS, about 8 bugs)
l Add the new features
n RadialNet Mapper enhancement(Grouping Method, expanded or collapsed)
n Add new profiles
n Left panel enhancement (host filter, IP filter, OS options, Click method
,etc.)
n Nmap output enhancement(Tree-like structure)
n Printer and Save PDF(Tree-like structure, topology embedded)
n Add Preference Submenu(More configuration information)
n Integrate PacketManipulator(Interact with PM)
n Language Options(UI Language)
n Other tiny improvements
l Test it in different platforms
n Unit tests
n Different platforms tests(Win7, Ubuntu12.04, Gentoo, etc)
l Write technical documents
l Make a Chinese and Japanese UI version
Above is an overview of my project proposal. May I send you the complete
project idea and discus more detailed information? I want to try my best to
complete the proposal.
Cheers.
