Never try to change the installation path for Perl, if you don't know what you are doing....
I changed the installation folder to Program Files instead and I couldn't understand why the mapdrive.pl wouldn't run. During the past week I've been checking all the shares, all the rights etc, etc... and then finally when I started to investigate the perl script I saw my own mistake "the path for perl.exe"....
Don't go down the same road.
