Michael,

About your question 3:
>>"3. I'm not sure, but i can't remember the winnt installer formatting any
>>other partition other than the partition it is installting windows into. Your
>>format command (see OP) also does NOT include formatting the D:"

I used the same configuration with other PCs...and it work great.
In fact it seems as if this part of the command was not fully taken:
"/dev/dsk mkpartfs logical fat32 30720 -0"
because when I check the disk with parted, this logical partition type is
viewed as unknow (instead of fat32).

Thanks Michael for taking time to reply.

>>"Could you specify where exactly your install depends on the existence of a

My Documents and Settings is in the D.
 [GuiUnattended]
    ProfilesDir= "D:\Documents and Settings"

This is why when, on the Windows Screen at the stage "Preparing Installation" I
have an error...When i validate i have theses details :

 Error setup could not register the OLE control C:\WINDOWS\system32\rsnaenh.dll
because of the following error
 DllRegister server returned error 2147943405 (800703ED)

 Error setup could not register the OLE control C:\WINDOWS\system32\dssenh.dll
because of the following error
 DllRegister server returned error 2147943405 (800703ED)

Odd. C/H/S does not multiply out to 488281250
Program parted is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO
But according to what i read here it's not a problem.

I can't see any other error.

I have corrected the install.pl (1.147 -> 1.148)

>>"2. does it work when you manually partition the disk using the above parted
>>commands?"

--> Yes, if i create the partition manually and i comment the 2 lines it's ok.
This is the way i am doing for theses PCs...but as I will have 45 five PC to do
in a row...I have to find the solution

--> How could i make it include the D Formatting ?
Something like that ?   format_cmd="format /y /z:seriously /q /u /a /v: c: ;
format /y /z:seriously /q /u /a /v: d:"  ??

 Thanks Thibaut for the Fast reply.
 I have 4 options in SATA operation in the bios.

 - Raid Autodetect / AHCI : Raid if signed drives, otherwise AHCI
 - Raid Autodetect / ATA : Raid if signed drives, otherwise ATA
 - Raid On = SATA is configured for Raid on every boot
 - Legacy = this mode provides for compatibility with some older operating
systems that do not support native resources assigned to the drive controller.

 I've tried all...Same problem...

Change SATA AHCI to plain old SATA in BIOS and everything should work.
