I just finished reading Anna Quindlen's book, How Reading Changed My Life and I 
thought I'd share this:
E.B. Huey (a researcher from the early 1900's) said:
"To completely analyse what we do when we read would almost be the acme of the 
psychologist's achievements, for it would be to describe very many of the most 
intricate workings of the human mind."
Here we are, 100 years later, discussing on this listserve the many most 
intricate workings of the human mind...... wow.
