I've just been reading over the discussion regarding Phoenician script encoding that has been generated over the last few days.

As an 'expert', i.e. someone actually working with ancient languages, can I put in a vote for Michael's proposal to encode the Phoenician script along the lines he has indicated? Thank you, Paul. I am pleased to hear that some real users are adding support to the proposal. This is precisely what is needed for the proposal to be acceptable. I now have almost no remaining objections to the proposal, only to the way in which it was presented.
